The Shell

Built in 1926, our 1400 sq/ft gallery features high ceilings with original embossed tin tile, exposed masonry, and gorgeous natural light — combining chic industrial interior with ambiance and elegance. The main space is 19ft x 72ft — ideal for a sit down gathering or come-and-go event. Max capacity is 85.

 

Cedar Patio

Our 20 x 40 ft back patio is surrounded in historic brick, cedar beams, and sky views. This space is perfect for grilling, happy hours, photo-ops, and gatherings.

The Loft

The loft offers a private getaway, green room, or dressing room for bridal parties. Complete with stylish vintage couches, mirrors, and plenty of storage space the loft is a cozy escape.

 

Layout Examples

60 Person Celebration

8 60in round tables with enough chairs for 60 guests. Dance floor or presentation space is centered under a columned arch, and additional space is left at entry and around serving areas. Tables, chairs, and black table linens are included.

60 Guest Wedding & Reception

Our versatile space can function as a ceremony space for 60 guests + bridal party then convert to a reception celebration with a dance floor in the middle. Tables, chairs, and black table linens are included.

What is your capacity at The Shell?

The venue can host up to 85 guests for a ceremony and reception per fire code. We include tables and chairs up to 80 guest. We have a bathroom on first floor, ample parking around the venue, a patio in the back, a catering area, and a loft space for private dressing.

What is located near the venue?

The venue is located in the downtown, historic square of Canyon, TX — the heart of shopping, dining, and festivities round town. There are a variety of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and shops to keep your guests happy before or after an event. Most hotels and bed and breakfasts are all less than 10 min away. We are happy to share hotel recommendations that provide room blocks.

What is your policy on vendors, food and alcohol?

We have an open vendor policy that allows for any caterer and bartender to be used with liability insurance, TABC certification and professional bar insurance. We have an onsite prep area with ice machine available to all guests. We are happy to provide vendor recommendations upon request.

Is cleaning included?

Yes. Just don’t get crazy. Basic cleaning is included with every booking. This means that at the end of your time all you have to worry about is taking anything that is yours. Our team will come in and take care of the rest. Our team will be available the day of your event to ensure everything is taken care of with the venue.


What is the parking situation at the venue?

Our venue is located on the historic square in Canyon, TX and offers plenty of handicap and street parking around the space.


Can two events happen on the same day? 

We offer a variety of rental options from 3 hour to full day use, so occasionally multiple events will take place in the same day. Please ensure that you allow sufficent time to decorate, enjoy your event, and gather up during your reservation.

We do suggest a full day reservation for larger events. This allows the bride/groom/client to have the venue from 10:00am -11:00pm.
